Crazy Chaos At Cross Country!

On the 16th of May, our school had our annual cross country race. It was a tiring day with everyone racing for glory!

There were many races from the 8 year old girls to the 12 year old boys. Many people achieved their main objective, finishing the race.

There were sparks flying all around when the houses had their war cry. The houses were Freeman (yellow), Newcombe (red), Frazer (green) and Bradman (blue).

Most people who came 1st or 2nd in their age race made it to the Zone Carnival, a more tough and competitive event. Many people who finished their race were really proud of all the effort they put in. CONGRATULATIONS to all those who attended the event!

Athletics Carnival

Last Wednesday, we had our Sports Carnival at Campbell Oval. Everyone enjoyed the day because it was really fun and we didn’t have to do schoolwork. When we arrived at Campbell Oval, we were separated into our house groups. There are four groups which are Bradman, Newcombe, Fraser and Freeman. I’m in Freeman which is the colour of yellow.

The grounds at Campbell Oval were wet due to rain. Because the grounds were wet, there was a good chance that we would slip. On the day we had various sport activities and events. There were 100m, 200m, 800m, Junior and Senior girls and boys long jump, Junior boys and girls relay and Senior boys and girls relay, Junior captain ball and tunnel ball and Senior captain ball and tunnel ball.

I came 1st in 100m, 200m, 2nd in qualifying 100m and last in 800m. I was also in the Junior boys relay which Freeman came 1st in. And I also participated in the Junior captain ball and tunnel ball.

It was really fun but, some people cheated. On the next day the teachers announced who won the Athletics Carnival. Unfortunately it wasn’t Freeman but it was Fraser! Our team was really disappointed but at least we tried our best.

Carbon Dioxide Experiment

Last Wednesday, our class made Carbon Dioxide. We needed vinegar, bicarbonate soda, a cannister, experiment goggles, a plate and some water. To make the Carbon Dioxide you have to pour some vinegar into the cannister. After you have poured in the vinegar, you have to pour some bicarbonate soda on the inside of the lid. You also have to put some water on the bicarbonate soda to make it solid. When the bicarbonate soda is solid, put on your goggles so that you are ready to mix the bicarbonate soda with the vinegar. When you are ready, you have to put on the lid with the cannister and then turn the cannister upside down on the plate. Watch as the vinegar and bicarbonate soda mix to create Carbon Dioxide (there will be bubbles).
